Pack Expo Conclusions
Coming up on just about a month post Pack, Apex is still buzzing with all the excitement and energy that was surrounding Pack Expo Las Vegas. Which hit an unprecedented trifecta with the turnout this year! They broke records for number of exhibitors, total exhibit space and total attendees, according to the show owner and producer PMMI, the Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies. There were over 2,000 exhibitors covering nearly 900,000 net square feet of the Las Vegas Convention Center with over 31,000 attendees. An 8% increase since their 2017 show! This goes to show how prosperous the markets are in packaging, manufacturing and automation.
Apex Filling Systems was able to catch up with many of our current customers and made connections with several prospective customers! Apex showcased our 6 Head fully automatic Sanitary Construction Pressure Overflow Filler along with our automatic 4 Station Spindle Capper with Cap Sorting Elevator and several more machines. We were able to give attendees the opportunity to see solutions for their business, first hand, even if they were created for other vertical markets. The scope of the people in attendance were made up of high quality, substantial business making position holders. This is useful in the sense that they came with real buying power!
There were a number of educational sessions this year, covering topics such as sustainability, robotic automation, change over and predictive maintenance, recycling, and reusable packaging, just to name a few. It was so nice to interact and engage with the different verticals at this year’s show.
The Cannabis and CBD industry were definitely the most prominent of product groups this year. With 11 states fully legalized, 30 states participating in mixed usage, the rest are sure to follow in rapid time.
